It offers a powerful combination of the very latest technology and features, plus full compatibility with the PowerXtreme feature set, first defined in 1995. PPC7D offers a 1GHz-plus 7447 PowerPC processor, fully supported by the Marvell Discovery II Integrated System Controller providing high data bandwidth to Double Data Rate memory and a bridge to two PCI-X buses. Two PMC sites and a new AFIX (Additional Flexible Interface Xtension) site provide access to further incremental system expansion. PPC7D software support includes Radstone’s comprehensive Deployed Test Software and PPCBoot firmware, plus Board Support Packages (BSPs) and Enhanced Support Packages (ESPs) for VxWorks from WindRiver, LynxOS from LynuxWorks and INTEGRITY from Green Hills Systems. PPC7D not only offers unprecedented performance for new applications, but also protects the user’s investment in application software by providing seamless technology insertion opportunities in existing applications. Features Processor PowerPC 7447 at The 7447 is the latest processor in the G4+ family from Freescale, offering a combination of high 1.13 GHz frequency, efficient power consumption and 0.5 Mbytes of on-chip L2 cache (SPECInt95 = 43.79 @ 1 GHz, SPECfp95 = 31.61 @ 1 GHz) SBC typical power consumption when fitted with 7447 and 512 MBytes SDRAM = 25W System Marvell Discovery II The Marvell Discovery II Integrated System Controller (ISC) combines a high bandwidth memory Controller controller, two PCI-X interfaces and a range of communications peripherals, all on a single chip Main 512 Mbytes to 1 GByte The CPU is interfaced to the main memory via a 64-bit data bus running at 133 MHz.
