PACKETport PACKETport MASTERseries IP Router Plug-on For use in MASTERseries Platform Reduce capital expeditures by eliminating a separate, external router Carrier Access’ PACKETport is a compact, high performance IP router that integrates with any of the MASTERseries application modules. PACKETport’s small size and low cost make it an ideal solution for BTS cell site and branch office edge routing applications. PACKETport, a member of the MASTERseries plug-on options, mounts on any MASTERseries appli- cation module V.35 serial port and is fully integrated with Carrier Access’ IP-based network manage- ment and control capabilities. PACKETport requires no additional power source, and it is easy to install, requiring only a single soft- ware parameter change. Multiple WAN operation modes are available for application traffic off of the LAN. PPP, Frame Relay, and HDLC WAN protocols are supported from 56k up to 10Mbps bit rates. In addition, a unique MASTERseries control channel bandwidth sharing mode is available for maximum utilization of T1/E1 resources.
