It connects directly to existing local area networks serving Windows, UNIX, Linux, NetWare and Macintosh users. The DNS-3000 offers enough flexibility to configure a reliable storage system for networks. The DNS-3000 reduces TCO, offering easy installation and management and can be administered remotely. The DNS-3000 supports hardware RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and hot spare. The new feature "Distributed sparing" is the ability to use all disks in creating a spare as a means to achieve higher performance by using all disks in an array. The DNS-3000 offers iSCSI functionality to fulfill cost efficient IP SAN environment, and with Windows server 2003 pre-installed, provides highly integrated storage-serving for enterprise environments. New features include directory quota, file screening and volume shadow copy, giving user the flexibility to restore data easily without administrator help. The DNS-3000 provides two external Ultra 320 SCSI ports, allowing scalable capacity or tape library. Dual Giga LAN network connections provide networking features such as failover and load balancing.
